Carnatic vocalist Bombay Jayashri stable after suffering 'health setback' amid UK tour
The singer shared on Instagram that she is recovering well.

A statement uploaded on her Instagram Story said that the renowned singer is stable and has been recovering, thanks to the "timely medical intervention" from the National Health Service (NHS) in the country.
"Bombay Jayashri had a health set back in the United Kingdom where she is currently touring for her concerts. She received timely medical intervention thanks to the capable staff at the NHS and her accompanying artistes. She is currently stable and recovering well, she requires rest for a couple of days," the statement read.

According to a PTI report, the well-known musician underwent a surgical procedure for an aneurysm she suffered while touring the UK. Aneurysms, when an artery swells up due to weak arterial wall, can occur anywhere in the body - brain, spleen, aorta, back of the knee or intestine. A ruptured aneurysm can result in internal bleeding and stroke. It can sometimes be fatal.
The singer's family, who is with her in the country, said that she needs to rest for a couple of days. Her family also requested the fans and media to respect their privacy. They urged her fans to ignore the "messages circulating on social media platforms."
Jayashri is a popular face in the world of Carnatic music.
The Padma Shri awardee, who is in her 50s, has also rendered well-known Tamil film songs.
Besides Tamil, the singer is also known for singing songs in multiple languages including Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
