Car designing: An unexplored form of art in India
Indian influence on car designing is very tricky.

With electric and hyper cars seen as the future of the auto industry, car designers have plenty of scope to come up with new designs. And Indian designers even have someone they can look up to in this sphere.
On the second day of 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the exhibitors proudly flaunted their cars and bikes.
The world's largest annual consumer technology trade show, CES, runs through January 12 and features about 3,900 exhibitors showing off their latest products and services to more than 170,000 attendees.

Here's a look at the mean machines from Day 2.
Take the case of Chunky Vazirani, who designed Shul, an electric hyper car which gets its name from the trident. He is inspired by noted designer Dilip Chhabria. “Dilip Chhabria has been the only Indian car designer around who has done good work,” Vazirani says.

The XC40 is Volvo's smallest SUV, but there's a lot more that defines this car. Expected to be priced between Rs 43-45 lakh, it is the Swedish carmaker's answer to the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class.
Vazirani’s design sensibility is to use Indian elements where he can, at the same time ensure that the ride looks modern and international. “The Indian influence is very tricky as you tend to go overboard and be too decorative with colour,” he says. “On a sports car, you need to be subtle,” he says.
