Cannes 2016 report card: Sonam, Aishwarya impress the fashion police

- Lucky Blue Smith: The 17-year-old actor and rapper has been slaying his fashion choices for a while now. At Cannes, the young man with the signature platinum blond bleached hair wore a deep blue tux with a black bow.

- George Clooney: The star wore a tux for the red carpet, but kept it casual for the photo-call. His all-black ensemble and shades channelled a relaxed, chic look. Fashion critics loved both looks equally.

- Sonam Kapoor: Her first outfit, the Ralph & Russo white elaborate gown, earned its share of memes. She was back on the red carpet, again with a white Ralph & Russo, this time with a floral cape and train. Her floral diamond neckpiece by Bvlgari was appreciated too.

- Chris Pine: The Star Trek actor stole the show with his textured, doublebreasted grey jacket and matching pants, which he paired with a blue and white polka dot pocket square. Pine’s salt and pepper stubble added swagger to his look.

- Blake Lively: Lively and her baby bump are having a happy time in Cannes. Her fashion choices — especially the red jumpsuit by Juan Carlos Obando and the sparkly Vivienne Westwood dress — have earned her approval all around. This blue Atelier Versace gown has been likened by many to Elsa’s gown from Frozen.

- Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: The actress had a number of looks this year. The glittering Ali Younes gown and the Rami Kadi dress, which was overshadowed by her purple lips, got a lukewarm reception. However, she scored points with the red ruffl ed gown by Naeem Khan.
