Himatsingka is more of an online shopper these days.
Raghav Himatsingka, Founder of Raising Superstars, thinks just being able to get out and enjoy the normal things of life will be a great start.

"Going to the office, chilling in the pool, going out to restaurants, movies, going out for a coffee or a drink. If we are able to travel, that would be the icing on the cake," he says.

Stay haven

"I think I would love to go to Churchill in Canada. It’s the best place in the world to see the Northern Lights and Polar Bears, both of which I haven’t had the chance to see in the wild yet," he says.

Just being able to do the normal things in life (restaurants, sports, clubs, movies, etc.) without any fear or unnecessary precaution would be awesome for Himatsingka. Being able to hang out with friends will be good for him.

Himatsingka is more of an online shopper these days. "Don’t really have anything that I’m craving to buy at the moment. We have taken our entire business online. I have purchased plenty of equipment to turn my home into a home studio for shooting professional grade videos, including lighting, camera, teleprompters, screens, etc," he shares.

New things
"I’ve become obsessed with books and learning content and have consumed more than 150 hours of learning content in the lockdown. I follow a home fitness regime called P90X which requires limited equipment like dumbbells and bands. It covers everything from weight lifting to cardio, advanced level yoga and stretches," he shares.

Spending a lot of time with family: parents, wife and son has brought everyone together and made Himatsingka better connected.

“I decided to use this opportunity to improve my physical conditioning. I started cycling (after more than 40 years) inside my gated community from mid-April. I went from seven kilometres per ride to 20 kilometres by the end of June. Recently, I did a 52-kilometre ride to Chikka Tirupathi [on the outskirts of Bengaluru]. Cycling has had a huge impact, not just on my physical conditioning but also my confidence.”

“Startups are quite demanding, so I’ve never been able to work out more than three days a week, even when I trained for the Ironman Triathlon. So, when the lockdown was announced, I decided to challenge myself with a ‘consistency goal’ of accomplishing a workout a day. It began with coordinated workouts on Zoom with my friends and as restrictions eased, I started going for outdoor runs. There were days when there would be so many calls that I’d be seen climbing the building stairs at 10 pm. I now have more than 100 days of workouts under my belt and it has been the biggest stressbuster.”

“During the lockdown, I have managed to master single-leg burpees. It’s important to have a defined schedule and stick to it. I ensure that I block out some time during the day for exercise. I work out at home daily with various bodyweight exercises — I do pushups, burpees and air squats. I love doing CrossFit and high-intensity interval training that combines weightlifting, aerobics, powerlifting and gymnastics.”
