Café Coffee Day founder's son Amartya gets engaged to Cong leader DK Shivakumar's daughter
Karnataka CM Yediyurappa was among those who blessed the couple.

Amartya Hegde, the son of Café Coffee Day founder the late VG Siddhartha, on Thursday got engaged to Aishwarya Shivakumar, the daughter of Congress troubleshooter D K Shivakumar, at a ceremony in Bengaluru.
An intimate affair, the ceremony was attended only by family and close friends and some political bigwigs. Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa turned up to bless the couple. Setting political differences aside, the senior BJP leader was seen in conversation with Shivakumar who also happens to be the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee chief.
And that's not the only political connection in this high-profile match. Amartya's mother, Malavika Krishnan, is the daughter of SM Krishna who spent most of his political life in the Congress before switching camps to the BJP in March 2017. Krishna has served as the Karnataka CM for a decade, and was also the Lok Sabha Speaker during the UPA tenure.
The couple was twinning in pink ensembles for their special day. The bride's father opted for a blue silk kurta, and her mother Usha was clad in an orange and green saree.
