For a once shy and conservative Seethalakshmi Srilal, journalism was a true eye opener.
Numerous women in our midst have made outstanding contributions to society. C Krishniah Chetty Group salutes the resilience and tenacity of these unique women who have inspired many. Their success gives us a glimpse into their way of life and taste in jewellery.

Dr Premila Naidu
Dr Premila Naidu started her journey as a paediatric dentist, when others were unaware of the speciality.

She pledged her wedding jewellery to gather funds to start her first paediatric dental clinic, SmallBites, which offered an unparalleled child-friendly environment. She also empowers other women with training and job opportunities. During the pandemic, she introduced video consultation with Telebites, through which she reached out to parents worldwide and offered support and guidance during dental emergencies.

journey
Dr Naidu inspires working moms and women with talks on weight training, fitness and stress management. She follows her heart, nurturing a passion for motorcycling and modelling. Dr Naidu expresses her fortitude and fine taste with deep coloured citrine and diamond-studded earrings and brooches from C Krishniah Chetty, paired with her leather jackets, as she rides along the roads in her bold journey.

Seethalakshmi Srilal
For a once shy and conservative Seethalakshmi Srilal, journalism was a true eye opener.

The initial years were challenging. Her first break came when she took on a higher education minister, who had copied in his college examinations and morally could not continue to hold his position. In another bold story, she was stirred by an anonymous letter about Sri Lankan refugee children who were starving. Despite being warned that she would get branded as an LTTE sympathiser, she went ahead with the story and raised huge funds to support the children. Her investigative stories that reported on land encroachments, college seat scams and misuse of public funds were not easy. But she stayed the course and remained honest and diligent in her duties every day.
