Venthu Thaninthathu Kaadu, starring Simbu, is one of the year's most anticipated movies. Directed by Menon, the Tamil pan-Indian film hits theatres on September 15. Just days before the movie's release, the creators released a trailer for the movie voiced by actor Manoj Bajpayee.

In the film, Silambarasan, affectionately known by his fans as Simbu, plays the role of 19-year-old Muthu. Revealing his transformational journey for the film, he said that when the director Gautam Menon and screenwriter Jayamohan discussed the story, they had initially suggested that a newcomer rather than him should play the main character.

When he asked the director why he wasn't being considered for the role, the director revealed it is based on real-life events, and if Simbu played it, people might take it up as his story rather than the story they wanted to convey. The actor took it as a challenge and decided to transform himself into a nineteen-year-old boy for this role. He lost weight, used every opportunity, and created something extraordinary and unique.



The actor wore three different looks in the film, first losing a lot of weight to play the 19-year-old and then gaining 7 pounds to get the second look. Simbu had to add another three kilos to get the third look. Menon directs the film. Actress Siddhi Idnani plays the lead female in the movie.
