The officers were seen singing the title track of Kal Ho Naa Ho and playing the guitar. Kal Ho Naa Ho is a 2003 bollywood film that featured Preity Zinta, Shah Rukh Khan, and Saif Ali Khan while Nikkhil Advani directed the film.

The US Secretary Navy hosted the dinner, and a user shared the video on Twitter. Karan Johar also shared the video on the same platform and wrote that the song lives on. In the post, he tagged Nikkhil Advani, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Javed Akhtar, and Shah Rukh Khan.

Nikkhil Advani revealed how Shah Rukh Khan did not like the death scene in the movie, saying the character or the movie wasn't getting any respect.
