The trailer for Ajay Devgn’s latest movie, Thank God, is out. The Bollywood superstar plays Chitragupta, the Hindu deity of records of human actions. Aja Devgn will play the divine accountant of good and evil deeds, while Sidharth Malhotra must answer for his sins.

As per Hindu mythology, Chitragupta keeps records of all the sins and good deeds human being does in their lifetime. After accounting for the deeds, Chitragupta decides whether the person should be punished in hell or enter heaven. Thank God is directed by renowned comedy director Indra Kumar, known for superhits like Dhamaal, Masti, Raja, and Dil.

The Thank God trailer features music from last year’s viral Sri Lankan song, Manike Mage Hithe. Sri Lankan singer Yohani, who sang the original song, will also be recording the Hindi version, as confirmed by Indra Kumar in an official statement. The trailer indicates that Thank God will be a VFX-heavy movie, a trend with recent Indian blockbusters like RRR, Vikram, and KGF.

Thank God releases this year on Diwali, October 25. Apart from Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra, the film also features Rakul Preet Singh and Nora Fatehi. Upon release, Thank God will compete with Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu, which also hits theatres on Diwali. While Akshay’s all 2022 films have been box office duds, Ajay’s only 2022 release before Thank God, Runway 34, also failed to make a mark. However, the latter’s movie received somewhat positive reviews from critics.
