Silambarasan, or Simbu, plays the role of a simple man, who eventually turns to the world of crime. The Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu trailer was released on September 2, and huge expectations lie on its shoulders. The trailer is three-minutes-long and shows Muthu (Simbu) as a villager. He can be seen handling guns.

There is an ominous voiceover in the trailer's beginning and Menon's signature style: narrating a story is easier than telling the truth. He warns the audience, and the actor, Simbu, is seen getting out of a train.
