Singer Rahul Jain accused of rape by 30-year-old costume stylist. Find out what happened

Hindi film industry has been in the news recently for several wrong reasons as a popular singer-musician has been accused of rape.

Singer and composer Rahul Jain is known for his cover versions of popular Hindi songs and original tracks in several films. Jain has been accused of raping a woman, who works as a costume stylist in the entertainment industry.

According to the woman, Jain raped her in his apartment in Mumbai. Rahul Jain has vehemently denied the allegations against him and termed them ‘fake and baseless.’


The woman registered a complaint at the Oshiwara police station and described the details of the incident to the police. She said that Rahul had messaged her on the social media app Instagram and told her that he appreciated her work.

He asked her to visit his apartment in Andheri, a suburb of Mumbai, and assured her that she would be his costume stylist. On August 11, the complainant met Rahul at his Andheri-based apartment.

As per the complainant, Jain asked her to come to his bedroom so that he could show her some of his belongings and then raped her.

The complainant further stated that she tried to resist Jain’s advances, but failed. According to her, he has also made attempts to destroy the evidence.


Police have registered the woman’s FIR under sections 376 (Punishment for rape), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and 323 (Punishment for voluntary causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code. As of now, Jain has not been arrested.

When the media reached out to Jain for comments, he said he didn’t even know the woman, who had filed an FIR against him.

According to the singer, the complainant could be taking the help of a woman, who had tried to frame him on similar charges.
