Indian cinema is seeing a massive boycott trend from the audience these days. Many actors and celebrities have commented on it; the most recent one is Tamil actor Simbu.

During an interview, while promoting his latest movie Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, Silambarasan TR said he and his director Gautham Menon have tried to break the movie pattern they used to do to impress the audience.

It is his third movie with the same director and will release in theatres on September 15. Just a year ago, Simbu gave a blockbuster movie Maanaadu. And in his third movie, the actor-director combo hasn’t opted for another love story as they wanted to give something else to the audience. Moreover, Simbu is not interested in playing a romantic hero anymore.

Earlier, this actor-director combo has given super hits like Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, both of which are popular for their romantic storylines.

They also wanted to make a love story this time, but Maanaadu’s success made them think otherwise.




He pushed himself to do different and challenging roles, and audiences accepted him that way in Maanaadu. So, they thought of making VTK.

VTK is a gangster's story, and the audience can expect much reality from it. The story revolves around a young person from a village in Tamil Nadu, his journey to Mumbai, and becoming a gangster with time.

According to Simbu, VTK has no slow-motion or high short moments. Some moments will sweep the audience off their feet, but these moments will come naturally and eventually.
