Priyanka Chopra is currently on a visit to Poland to meet Ukrainian refugees. The actor shared her experiences on social media after meeting women and children of the war-torn country. She wrote a touching letter to the UNICEF team on Thursday (August 4), thanking them for their determination, patience, commitment and empathy in supporting Ukrainian refugees.

She shared the snippets of her visit on Instagram. Apart from interacting with the refugees, she also posed for photographs with the volunteers.

Priyanka, who has been connected to UNICEF for quite a while now, said that every trip she makes there helps her believe in the kindness of people. In her message, the actress cited Maya Angelou as well. She mentioned meeting many heroes in the last few days while discussing the work of UNICEF volunteers, referring to the organisation's staff members, volunteer groups, sponsors, and others, who came together at this time of dire need of help. The commitment, perseverance, empathy, innovation and dedication of the UNICEF staff in assisting people are commendable.

Ukraine experienced significant loss due to the Russian invasion, which started in February. On the other hand, the UNICEF team reacted quickly. It mobilised its resources to set up operations and aid refugees, entering Poland, Romania, Moldova and other nations in the region within weeks. The actor appreciated UNICEF's rapid action in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. She also remarked how quickly the Poland office was established and came into action during the crisis.

In her post, Priyanka Chopra also cited Rashed Mustafa, the UNICEF Country Coordinator for Poland. She appreciated the efforts and support that the people of UNICEF have been providing and thanked them.

Priyanka Chopra previously shared a photo of herself having fun with young Ukrainian children. She talked about the hobbies of the young people she met and their love of creating art and utilising everyday home items like salt and coffee for art therapy and sensitivity therapy.

The therapists are able to understand the emotions of the kids when they interact with the help of different materials like colors. The youngsters initially used dark colours in their drawings, which eventually became brighter. She added that when she met Ukrainian youngsters they gave her a handcrafted doll.
