Ponniyin Selvan's first song 'Ponni Nadhi' out. A.R. Rahman delivers a marvel!

"Ponni Nadhi", the first song of the upcoming period drama 'Ponniyin Selvan', has been released. Oscar winning music composer A.R. Rahman has lent his soulful voice for the song. Ponniyin Selvan stars Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Parthiban and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The film is directed by Mani Ratnam.

River Cauvery is also known as the Ponni. It is most likely that the song will be played at the beginning of the movie when Karthi (Vallavaraiyan Vandhiyatheva) passes through the Chola land to pass on Vikram's (Aditya Karikalan's) secret message.

The energetic and rousing song was composed by A.R. Rahman. The movie will be shot and divided into two parts (shot simultaneously). It is an adaptation of a novel that has the same name.





Ponniyin Selvan 1 is based on Amarar Kalki's novel. The book, which is divided into five parts, tells the tale of Arulmozhi Varman, Raja Raja Cholan I. He is a well-known ruler of the Chola Kingdom. He is known for erecting the Brihadisvara Temple in Thanjavur.

Jeyamohan has written the film's dialogues, while Elango Kumaravel and Mani Ratnam have given the screenplay to the film. Lyca Productions has co-produced the movie, and Sreekar Prasad is the editor of the film. Ravi Varamn is the cinematographer.

The movie will be released all over India in Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi on September 30.

A.R. Rahman and Mani Ratnam have come together many times previously and delivered blockbusters. We can safely say that there is one more to add to the list.
