Netflix said for the first time that it was open to the idea of offering lower-priced subscriptions with advertising. The company is also looking to generate additional revenue from customers who share their account with friends or family outside their home. Karthikeya 2, the sequel to the 2014 movie 'Karthikeya', started with just 50 shows on its opening day across the Hindi majority-speaking parts of the country. By Tuesday, that number had increased to 1,500+ in the same region.
The movie reinstated that good content will perform better than star-studded line-ups with mediocre storylines. The Hindi version of Karthikeya 2 has earned 1.45 crore in just three days.

Already riding on its box office high, the movie is slated to be released on an OTT platform. But it will be a while before fans can enjoy the movie from the comfort of their homes. The OTT rights of the movie have been acquired at a whopping price by ZEE5 and will be available for viewing six weeks from its release date.
The movie, which features Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead, has received rave reviews from both audiences and critics. According to critics, the film has been described as an “engaging adventure” and an “adventure ride,” which offers great content while being a visual treat.
The film hasn’t just done well in the domestic market but has also performed great globally.

It has already crossed the $500,000 mark overseas and is seeing full houses in the U.S. and Canada.
Industry expert Taran Adarsh attributed the movie’s success to the story rooted in our culture. As it deals with common man sentiments, it becomes a huge draw for the public, and positive word of mouth from pleased fans will help the movie gain even more momentum.

The film is written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti and has TG Vishwa Prasad and Abhishek Agarwal as its producers. Apart from the leads Nikhil and Anupama, it also stars Anupam Kher, Srinivas Reddy, Aditya Menon and Viva Harsha. Kaala Bhairava directed the music for the movie.
