Love in the Villa on Netflix: Viewers are loving Italy's Verona. Here's why

"Love in the Villa", a romantic comedy, was aired today on Netflix, and people are already in love with Italy, particularly Verona, the drama's filming location. If you remember, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare was also shot here. So, it is not surprising that Julie, the protagonist of the comedy, is so much in awe of Verona.

Kat Graham is playing the character of Julie, and she was forced to visit Verona alone after her boyfriend dumped her! And the quirkiest part is that she reserved a villa for spending time with her boyfriend and found out that Charlie, tall and British, had also double-booked it. Tom Hopper is playing this hunky hero who, just like Julie, is in total love with Verona.

Verona is in the Northern part of Italy, particularly on the western side of Venice, and popular among lovers for its charm. While they shot all the interior scenes within the Villa, the outdoor shots were taken place in a tiny courtyard with a Juliet statue, Verona Casa di Giulietta. Other locations include different piazzas and squares in Italy, such as Piazza Bra, Piazzetta Santi Apostoli, Piazza Francesco Viviani, Palazzo Barbieri, and many more.

The two protagonists can be seen having wine and dinner together in Italy's largest lake, Lake Garda. On the other hand, Yard Restaurant was where the awkward dining scene of Charlie and Julie and their exes were shot.

Margret H. Huddleston and Stephanie Slack – two producers of this romantic drama, reported that not only the characters but all the members of the shooting unit were awestruck by Verona during the shooting. This is mainly because that was the first visit to Verona for all of them.

Kat Graham said that in the world, Verona, particularly Soave, is her favorite place. Though she visits Italy 2-3 times every year, it is never enough.
