Actor Kiccha Sudeep compared the Bollywood's current situation with ace batsman Virat Kohli's poor form. Sudeep has said that the Bollywood films and the industry would not have lasted long if they did not have anything good to offer.

He also said he does not want to generalise the success of the movies of the South. He added that many films are made every year, but do not do well at box office. The Vikrant Rona actor said some do well and some don't. However, it does not mean that one can generalise the industry and say a particular one is dominating.

Sudeep's remarks have come at a time when Bollywood is undergoing a dry spell, with a slump in ticket sales and poor box office numbers of Hindi films. Only three movies have done well in 2022 -- Gangubai Kathiawadi, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and The Kashmir Files, in terms of box office performance. The most recent flop at the box office has been Ranbir Kapoor and YRF's Shamshera.

In the Hindi circuit, films from the South have been doing exceedingly well and emerged as blockbuster. The list includes KGF Chapter 2, Master, Pushpa and RRR.

Sudeep said that if Bollywood did not offer good work and actors, it would not have lasted for so long. He compared the industry with Virat Kohli's slump in form. He said it is just a matter of time before both get back on track. He said that just because Virat isn't in form, you cannot take away his records. He believes every industry has its potential and the cultural change across the industries means the artistes feel secure.

Kiccha Sudeep gave the example of Vikrant Rona and said that the movie depicts how collaboration across industries take place wherein superstar Salman Khan presents the movie, which features Jacqueline Fernandez.
