Juhi Chawla, Ayesha Jhulka make OTT debut with Hush Hush. See when and where to watch

Amazon's upcoming dramatic thriller series, which stars a spectacular all-female ensemble cast, will get released on September 22. Juhi Chawla and Ayesha Jhulka, who are making their OTT debuts, will co-star alongside Soha Ali Khan, Shahana Goswami, Kritika Kamra, and Karishma Tanna. Tanuja Chandra is also back.

What is it based on?
Hush Hush is characterized as a mystery that centers around a group of ladies whose idyllic lives start to fall apart due to an unexpected tragedy; however, not much is known. The women are compelled to cooperate and weave a maze of deception and lies as long-buried secrets are revealed and threaten to ruin their families. Amazon is marketing this series on the entire female star cast and crew, with little concrete information on the actual material — even though the premise sounds somewhat akin to HBO's Big Little Lies.


Shikhaa Sharma of Sherni fame collaborated with Ashish Mehta to create the screenplay, which is being directed by Chandra, who is best known for the Irrfan Khan-starrer Qarib Qarib Singlle. For the dialogues, the two teamed up with Juhi Chaturvedi (Piku).

Hush Hush was among the 57 titles revealed earlier this year for their Indian Originals line-up, with a release date within the next two years. Women make up half of the population, yet there aren't many stories told from their perspective or point of view, according to the Head of India Originals at Prime Video, Aparna Purohit.

With Hush Hush, Prime Video is going even farther in its commitment to producing female-forward tales. They are dedicated to giving a global platform to diversified, honest, and relevant female stories. Hush Hush is a moving and captivating story featuring sophisticated, nuanced ladies who command the screen, Aparna said.

Vikram Malhotra's Abundantia Entertainment backs the production of Hush Hush. They previously oversaw films like Noor, Jalsa, and the Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah starrer Shakuntala Devi. He said in a prepared statement that in addition to championing female-first storylines, which are stories about and centered on strong women told by equally strong voices, they also pursue the concept of bringing groundbreaking content to our audience.

From September 22, Hush Hush will be available on Amazon Prime Video.
