Harish Roy, who played 'Khasim Chacha' in KGF movies, battling cancer
Harish Roy has undergone surgery for his lungs at Bangalore's Kidwai Hospital, though he needs further treatment. The actor is suffering from throat cancer.

Roy was fearful of missing out on roles if his ailment became a piece of public news, which is why he chose to remain silent. Nonetheless, the critically-acclaimed actor opened up about his health during a recent interview with social media influencer Gopi Gowdru. Hari Roy claimed that no one could escape fate, stating that situations could bestow greatness or take things away.
During the interview, Roy informed that he had been suffering from the ailment for three years. Harish Roy also revealed that he had a long beard in KGF to hide swelling in his neck due to throat cancer. While shooting a pivotal scene for the climax, Roy faced difficulties in breathing but continued to deliver without any complaints.
Harish Roy said he postponed the surgery due to a lack of funds and had to wait until the movie was released. Sadly, the actor is still facing a financial shortage for his treatment and said that he even thought of asking for financial help from his fans. A Times of India report states that the tablets alone cost more than Rs. 3,00,000 per month. He is now receiving treatment at the Kidwai Hospital, Bangalore.
Following Roy’s interview with Gopi, many stakeholders of the Kannada film industry have come forward to help the noted actor. Roy has undergone surgery for his lungs but needs further treatment per the doctors at the hospital.
