One of India's best poets and lyricists, Gulzar is well-known for his outstanding contributions to Hindi cinema. Throughout his seven-decade career, the iconic lyricist has received several honors, including an Academy Award, a Grammy, and about five National Film Awards. In 2013, the government of India awarded him the Padma Bhushan in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the business. Today marks the 88th birthday of the evergreen personality.

1. Tujhse Naraz Nahi Zindagi
n this popular melody from Masoom, lyricist Gulzar emphasizes how one should face all life's curveballs with a bright grin. Lata Mangeskar sings the female version of the song, while Anup Ghoshal sings the male version.
