Google 10th Anniversary celebration: Updated Play store logo, bonus Play points

Google completes 10 years. To mark the occasion, the American multinational technology giant has developed a new logo for its Play Store, the official Google market for mobile applications. Besides the revamped logo, Google is rewarding its loyal users with bonus points.

The points are Google Play Points and can be used on the Play Store. These points would remain valid for 24 hours allowing users to enjoy better rewards on their Play Store purchases.

The Google Play Store was created as an Android Market when Android 1.0 was launched. It was the official marketplace for downloading and buying applications for systems running on the Android OS. However, with time, the Play Store has evolved and become multifunctional.

It has become an online store for buying books, music, movies, and other services. In a blog, Google stated that the company is introducing a new logo for the Play Store to round up a successful decade of operation. The revamped logo reflects the benefits of Google and matches the brand image of other helpful services that Google offers, like Google Photos, Search, Gmail, and assistant.

In the blog, Google also thanked the community of the Play Store and its developers for staying with it for 10 years. As a reward, it offered 10X rewards Play Points on user purchases, and users have to activate the points booster to get enhanced reward points.

Google Play Store has around 2.65 million apps and is available across 190 countries worldwide.

How to use the Play Points?
The Google Play Points that you earn can be used to earn discount coupons. The more the points, the more the coupons. You can earn such Play Points when you interact with the applications available on the Play Store. If you download any app, make in-app purchases or download the items inside the app, you earn Play Points. With the booster, you can earn more points for each activity and exchange the points for discount coupons of higher denomination.

There's a catch for Indian users, in any case. You cannot access Play Points as these are not applicable in India. Play Points are allowed to users located in the following countries –
