The supernatural mystery comedy 'Wednesday Addams' revolves around Jenna Ortega, and her experience as a high school student.

Netflix has finally released the teaser of the much-hyped Addams Family spin-off. The Wednesday Addams, or simply Wednesday, is an upcoming comedy horror TV series by Tim Burton’s re-imagination of the Addams Family series.

The first look has garnered widespread excitement across the fanbase. The web series stars Jenna Ortega in the titular role, while Riki Lindhome, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Jamie McShane are other lead characters.

The supernatural series promises murder and mayhem at Nevermore Academy, where Jenna Ortega, aka Wednesday Addams, attempts to master her psychic power and thwarts a monstrous killing spree of the local citizens, and tries to solve the mystery that affected her family 25 years ago. All this happens while she navigates through her troubled relationship at the Academy.

Earlier, the streaming service had shared a teaser photo created by cartoonist Charles Addams on social media featuring the lead characters. Popular actors, including Gwendoline Christie and Christina Ricci of Game of Thrones, who also played Wednesday in the 1991 film, have made a comeback.

The cast will also feature George Burcea as Lurch and Victor Dorobantu as Thing; however, fans will have to wait a bit for the reveal of a major character Uncle Fester.

The comedy horror series is written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and is based on the fictional family characters created by Charles Addams. The original series aired from 1964 to 1966, and since then, there have been several reboots on the same concept, including the 1991 film, followed by a sequel and the animated film released in 2019 featuring the voiceover of Charlize Theron and Chloe Grace Moretz.

The eight-episode coming-of-age dark comedy will be released in the fourth quarter of 2023.
