English billionaire Alan Sugar, his controversial tweets sparked a lot of anger among the people. In his recent tweets, he reprimanded remote workers working from home. He believes that people who do not travel to their workplaces should be paid less than those who have to go to offices.

This set of tweets was prompted after the seventy-five-year-old business tycoon was invited to talk on Good Morning Britain. Alan Sugar, who is a TV personality, an author and a political adviser, was asked if people who work from home should be paid more in subsidiaries. The Manchester Evening News reported this news.

What did Alan Sugar's tweets say?

Alan Sugar tagged the Good Morning Britain official page. He said that GMB is asking whether people working from home should be given more salary so that they could get the comfort and warmth of an office as companies are saving money as their workers are away at home. The business magnate called this idea entirely rubbish. He said that those people have to pay rent and heating, and those rates are static for their offices with or without having to pay full salary to their employees. People who are working from home should be paid less as they are saving their travel money.

In another tweet, Alan Sugar responded to Andrew Pierce. The latter said that the British government is selling 1.5 billion pounds of Whitehall offices because people are working from their homes, and those offices are left useless. Why isn't the government asking the people to return to their offices? Alan Sugar's response to this was him calling the people working from home lazy gits. He said these people are wasting their time watching golf and tennis when they should be working. He called himself a taxpayer who is paying for their salaries and demanded that these people should be asked to come back to the offices or they should be fired.

How did the Twitteratis respond to Alan Sugar's tweets?

Twitter users were enraged seeing a huge businessman having such opinions.

One user wrote that people should be given salaries according to what they are worth and what their job position is worth. Their salaries and money should not be dependent on whether they travel to their offices.

Another user asked Alan Sugar if they were thinking straight. Since people working from home are at home, there is massive consumption of energy. The cost of living is increasing every day, and Alan Sugar is set on reducing their pay.

Another user pointed out the rules for employers and employees are entirely different. Alan Sugar does not want people working from their homes, but he himself works from his home or yacht.

One of the angered users said that twenty-five per cent of a worker's salary goes to fuel and run their houses, and it could lead them to homelessness as they cannot afford this expense along with feeding and clothing their families. This is 2022 and not 1822.
