One of the most eagerly anticipated Indian movies, Brahmastra, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, will eventually be released in the following week.
Ranbir Kapoor is making concerted efforts to promote 'Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva', the first chapter of his Astraverse story. The actor was promoting the movie in Hyderabad alongside Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Mouni Roy, SS Rajamouli and Nagarjuna.
Ranbir spoke to the audience with ease. Everyone in the room applauded him. Rajamouli stood up from his chair in admiration and gave Ranbir a bear hug. During the press conference, KJo, Alia and Mouni grinned when Ranbir talked in Telugu.
The Telugu version of songs, Kesariya and Kumkumala, were performed by him and his wife Alia. They mesmerised everyone with their performance.
Fans reacted overwhelmingly favourably to Ranbir's Telugu pronunciation. Emoticons with hearts and others were used by ardent Ranbir supporters. One online user wrote "Mashallah," and another added, "Hats off, bro."
In Telugu, Ranbir Kapoor discussed how Brahmastra is the most important movie of his career. By the time, the second installment of Brahmastra is released, he added, he will have improved his Telugu. His diction in Telugu was praised by star's admirers on social media, and they noted that the actor is a quick learner. Ranbir Kapoor spent three days learning what he said, according to Alia Bhatt, and his effort is commendable.
Even the Ayan Mukerji-directed movie has not been spared by the ongoing boycott trend. An online campaign against Brahmastra has been ongoing after an old footage of Ranbir talking about eating beef surfaced, and Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt's views about cancel culture were shared on social media.
It is interesting to see that Bollywood stars are showing an interest in mastering the local tongue. After his brief Telugu address, SS Rajamouli gave Ranbir Kapoor a bear hug.
The makers are releasing the movie in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada to appeal to a pan-India audience.
