Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra becomes a victim of cancel culture after Amir Khan’s Lal Singh Chaddha. Boycott Brahmastra is the current clarion call of haters of the Hindi film industry's mainstream so-called anti-Hindu ideology films.
The big films that have recently been released had not been able to tweak their box office collections and in the melee, Amir Khan was the first target.
LSC failed miserably which would otherwise rake in the moolah being an Amir Khan film. The only consolation was that it did very well in international theatres. But no way could the cost of the film which was 180 crores be recovered, and producers had to console themselves for 80 or 90 crores at best. The reason for the failure has been attributed to the clarion call of Hindu outfits who have asked the people to boycott of Hindi film industry.
The reason being given is that Hindi films write stories that showcase Hinduism in a negative frame.
But the truth also is that the big movies have not been able to draw the crowds into the theatres. The magic is missing in most movies that lack the storyline. People have got bored with the usual run-of-the-mill films that more or less are based on the same premise.
Brahmastra on the other hand has shown quite a following in terms of advance booking. The social media response has been positive at best.
The film Brahmastra has been promoted to the hilt by the stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The producers also have done an immense amount of marketing like bringing in SS Rajamouli and Junior NTR for its promos.
