Helmed by Kabir Khan, '83' stars Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, who led the World Cup-winning team, and Deepika Padukone, who plays the cricketer's wife in the film. The 37-year-old hit it out of the park with his to-the-point portrayal of ace cricketer and former captain of Team India.

In Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat', Singh played a villainous role. In this 2018 period drama, the actor turned into a power hungry Alauddin Khilji who forms an obsessive love for the Queen of Mewar, Queen Padmavati, wife of noble king Ratan Singh. There were reports that the actor used to lock himself in a room to perfect his lines and truly master the diabolical personality of his character.

Singh's another amazing performance was yet again a Bhansali directorial, 'Bajirao Mastani' which released in 2015. In this epic romantic drama, Singh played the role of Bajirao. The film depicts the romance between the Maratha general and princess of Bundelkhand, Mastani.

In this 2013 film, the star played the role of a jaded lover whose dreams are crushed under his family's long-standing rivalry. Singh was praised for his heated chemistry with actress-wife Deepika Padukone and his energetic performance of a passionate lover.

In this Zoya Akhtar directorial, Singh plays the role of an aspiring street rapper Murad Ahmed in this coming-of-age drama. Singh was praised for getting the essence of a street rapper, who hails from the Dharavi slums of Mumbai, so perfectly that even rapped in the film.

Zoya Akhtar's 'Dil Dhadakne Do' is an absolute family entertainer which starred Singh as Kabir Mehra. In this multi-starrer film, the actor played the role of a young man hailing from a rich Delhi family, struggles to take off with his dreams and realise what he wants while the pressure to marry into another affluent family for business reasons builds with each passing day.

'Band Baaja Baaraat' is a 2010 film by director Maneesh Sharma which tells the story about Shruti and Bitto, two youngsters from Delhi who start a wedding planning company. This was Singh's debut in Bollywood and he absolutely mesmerised the audience with his performance of carefree, easy-going, hard working youth.

This is another Sharma directorial which starred Singh in the lead role. In this film, the 37-year-old played the role of a fraudster who pretends to fall in love with his target just to take away all their money.
