Alia Bhatt told Mid Day she handles nepotism debates and trolls two ways. She said, "I can control one and prove my worth. I thought only my movies could end the conversation. I felt terrible. It's a tiny price to pay for being acknowledged and liked for my work. I stopped talking, went home, and worked. I made Gangubai Kathiawadi."
Alia Bhatt explained, "Who's laughing now? Until I flop again? I'm laughing. I use that to inspire myself. I can't keep arguing. Don't watch me if you don't like me. It's unavoidable as I cannot change what people think or say. Hopefully, my movies will show them I'm worth their time. I cannot control where I was born or who my parents were. Do people expect me to be ashamed of my father's achievement?"
