This movie's poster was launched when the state government was receiving criticism for the condition of the roads. The film's trailer also emphasised the potholes on Kerala's roadways.

The caption on the movie poster read, "There are potholes on the road. But please come to the theater. " As soon as this slogan sparked controversy, CPM's social media accounts and those of supporters of the pro-left began a campaign of hate against the film. It has been reported that pro-left online users have been advising people to avoid the movie.
