Bullets fired under water turned into flowers and were made into fancy jewellery that cost over $2000 by a jewellery brand in the US

Who knew that bullets could become magnificent, bespoke jewellery? That’s what one jewellery company in the USA is doing – turning bullets into fabulous statement pieces, each of which is a work of art. Bridget, who started the jewellery brand Bullet Bloom, explained on her website that she got really interested in shooting bullets into water and watching the strange shapes they made as they spread out. When a bullet goes into water, it can spread out in a very symmetrical, flower-like shape. She then creates a new version of that shaped form using sterling silver or 14-karat gold and frequently adds diamonds and other valuable gemstones to make the pieces even more special.

The result is more than just a piece of unusual jewellery. It shows a powerful change from an object made for breaking things into something linked with making art, beauty, and showing who you are. How The Idea Began

Bridget revealed how she established the company in 2015. She revealed how her father, a former Navy Seal and firearms enthusiast, decided to experiment with what happened when you fired a cartridge under the water. When bullets are fired underwater, they are crushed rather than launched.

The Making Of The Metal Blooms

They found out that the bullet’s lead and copper jacket push against the water. The metal peels and blossoms into flower-like shapes in milliseconds due to its extreme water resistance. Bridget was awestruck at seeing the beauty of the metal blooms. She decided to turn them into jewellery.

Turning Bullets Into Precious Jewellery

To ensure that the jewellery did not contain any traces of lead, she moulds the lead bullet and copper jacket through a patented process and casts it into silver and gold, and they are then set into a genstone. The entire process is crafted by hand.

Prices of the products vary between $225 for a pair of plume earrings and pendants that come with a yellow gold chain, which can cost you from $2100 to $2600.

Bridget also explained the deeper symbolism attached to the bullets once they are transformed into high-end jewellery. For her, each piece represents the idea of escaping a dangerous situation, much like the familiar expression of having narrowly avoided a bullet. Since the bullets used in her creations have not actually struck a target, she sees them as a physical representation of something that could have caused harm but ultimately did not.
