BTS Jungkook grooves to ‘Naatu Naatu’, desi ARMY has a meltdown

‘Naatu Naatu’, the catchy chartbuster from ‘RRR’ has a new fan.

And it’s none other than Jeon Jungkook!

The BTS lead vocalist was seen grooving to the viral song during a live fan interaction on Weverse on Thursday (March 2) night. The Golden Maknae played the Oscar-nominated track and asked his fans, “Do you guys know this song? This is from a recent movie called ‘RRR’. ’’ Jungkook also revealed that he is familiar with the hook-step performed by the ‘RRR’ leading men, Ram Charan and NTR Jr!


The video quickly went viral on social media and gained 16 million views.

The ‘RRR’ team thanked the singer for the shoutout. The Twitter handle of ‘RRR’ shared the clip of the ‘Euphoria’ hitmaker trying to lip-sync with the song, and wrote, “JUNGKOOK… It’s amazing to know that you loved Naatu Naatu so much. We are sending a ton of love to you, the BTS team, and the whole of South Korea.” The post gained over 720K views and 32K likes.
Desi ARMYs are obviously having the time of their lives! One fan shared the clip of the 'Still With You' singer lip-syncing with the song and said "We won at life."
A Telugu ARMY tweeted, "Andhra people where are you all? How are you surviving!"
Another wrote that this may give the song a popularity boost and keep it ahead in the race for Oscars. "
The singer hit headlines recently for deactivating his Instagram account. Fans speculated that the singer's IG account was hacked by a sasaeng (The Korean term for celebrity stalkers) but the singer assured ARMYs that this was a personal decision and his account was not hacked. "“I left Instagram. It’s not a hack. :) I just erased it because I didn’t do it. Don’t worry.” In another post, he wrote, “I deleted the app right away. I don't think I'll have to do it in the future! I'll let you know in advance! H.H.H," he wrote on Weverse. Jungkook had over 50 million followers on Instagram.

Aside from being a viral hit, 'Naatu Naatu' has also performed phenomenally well at the international award circuits. The song took home a Golden Globe as well as a Critics Choice Awards in the Best Song category. Composed by Telugu maestro MM Keeravani, the song is picturised on an energetic dance performance by Ram Charan and Jr NTR.
