Pop sensation Britney Spears recently ran into trouble with her Mercedes when she was driving on the 101 highway at night. According to reports, the singer found herself in a sticky situation after her luxe car ran out of gas on Tuesday night.

As per a report in HollywoodLife, law enforcement got a call around 10pm informing the officials about a white Mercedes blocking the third southbound lane on the 101 highway in Los Angeles.

The 40-year-old was driving north of Balboa Blvd when the incident took place. The police acted quickly and arrived at the location to find Spears sitting in the backseat of a passerby's vehicle.

The singer informed the officials that she could only manage to get the card towards the lane but couldn't get it out of traffic as the car ran out of gas while she was driving. The car started to sputter while she was in the middle of the highway.

The California Highway Patrol had to stop the traffic in order to move her car and rescue the singer. An officer got into the car while Spears sat in the passenger's seat. The car was pushed to safety.

The officers then waited with Spears, who was reportedly very grateful to them for their assistance, until the singer's husband Sam Asghari reached the location to pick her up.
