Streaming giant Netflix recently released the trailer and case for its upcoming anime movie 'Bright: Samurai Soul', a spinoff to Will Smith-starrer live-action 2017 film 'Bright'.

Marvel's 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' star Simu Liu has voiced the lead in this English-language version of 'Bright: Samurai Soul', which will release on October 12. Others to join the case are Fred Mancuso and Yuzu Harade, whereas the Japanese version of the film stars Yuki Nomura, Daisuke Hirakawa and Shion Wakayama.

The anime film is based in the fantasy world of David Ayer's 2017 Netflix movie 'Bright' which also starred Joel Edgerton.

The anime version will follow a one-eyed samurai named Lzo (voiced by Simu Liu) and an orc called Raiden (voiced by Mancuso) on a journey as they try to bring a young elf girl (voiced by Harada) and her wand to the land of elves.

The time period anime will showcase some never-seen-before characters and some epic 3DCG technology. The film, which is set in Japan during the end of the Shogunate and the beginning of the Meiji period, is directed by Kyohei Ishiguro from a script penned by Michiko Yokote.

'Bright: Samurai Soul' is a fresh addition to Netflix's growing anime collection.
