When it comes to real estate, her guidance is focused on timing. She said, "If you can, buy property but buy it at the right time, not when the markets are going through the roof."
For stock market investors, her message is equally clear: "If the stock markets are down don't panic. Hold on to your stock."
Three investment lessons from Dia Mirza's home purchase
1. Starting early can make a big differenceBuying a home at 19 may not be possible for everyone, but the broader lesson is about beginning investments early. Whether it is real estate, mutual funds or other assets, starting young gives investments more time to appreciate and benefit from long-term growth.
Dia's apartment has remained a valuable asset for decades. Real estate markets often go through ups and downs, but long-term ownership can help investors ride out short-term fluctuations and benefit from sustained appreciation over time.
3. Invest in assets you can improve over time
