Border 2 box office collection day-wise
Trade tracking platforms indicate that Border 2 had a strong foundation even before its release. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the film had already built momentum with advance bookings worth around Rs 17 crore. This early buzz translated into impressive footfalls on opening day, especially in key urban centres and single-screen theatres in North India. On Day 1, the war drama reportedly collected around Rs 30 crore net in India, comfortably surpassing pre-release expectations. Industry projections had initially placed the opening in the Rs 20 crore range, but the film managed to exceed those forecasts by a significant margin. The estimated gross collection for the first day stands at approximately Rs 35 crore.
Occupancy figures also show a steady growth pattern through the day. Morning shows opened on a slower note, but footfalls picked up as the day progressed. Overall Hindi occupancy for the film stood at 32.10%, with night shows recording the highest numbers at 48.06%, suggesting positive word of mouth and walk-in audiences driving late-evening shows.
More about Border 2
With this performance, Border 2 has entered the list of Bollywood’s highest opening-day collections of all time. The film’s Rs 30 crore debut places it at the 28th position on the all-time Day 1 charts. It has also managed to outperform Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, which had earned Rs 27 crore on its opening day. However, it fell short of the massive opening record of Gadar 2, which remains one of the biggest box office debuts in recent years. With weekend projections already trending upwards, Border 2 is now being seen as a strong contender for a Rs 100 crore-plus opening weekend, positioning it as Bollywood’s first major tentpole release of 2026. If the momentum continues, the film could establish itself as one of the year’s biggest commercial successes in the coming days. Let's see how it performs over the Holiday weekend.
