Bonnie Blue Babe: Rashmika Mandanna’s stunning Kanjivaram saree is a regal homage to MS Subbulakshmi
At the premiere of the biography of legendary Carnatic singer M. S. Subbulakshmi, the Animal star attracted attention. A stunning blue Kanjivaram silk saree that paid homage to the musician captivated her. The saree was a Shankarabharanam Kanjivar...

The saree is handwoven by experienced artisans and has deep blue shades reminiscent of M. S. Subbulakshmi’s favourite shade, although it also has royal purple shades. The sari has fine golden zari and temple-inspired motifs on the pallu and border.
The association with Shankarabharanam is intentional, with the Raga Edition drawing inspiration from classical ragas and expressing them through carefully chosen colours, textures and motifs. In this saree, the musical influence comes alive through a gradual transition of blue and purple hues, complemented by intricate gold zari work and traditional temple-inspired patterns. She accessorised with traditional jhumkas, bangles, nath and hair jewellery. She also put white jasmine gajras, or garlands, in her hair bun.

The singer was known for her love of gorgeous Kanjivaram silk sarees and ornate gold jewellery.
The actress also stunned in her second look. She was seen sporting a lovely orange-and-purple Kanjivaram silk saree from the Hyderabad-based label Sutrani. The drape featured a rich purple base adorned with delicate grid patterns and tiny dots at their centre. Vibrant orange borders ran along both edges, creating a bold and eye-catching contrast against the deep purple body of the saree. She paired thiswith ivory hued Banarasi muslin puffed-sleeve blouse which had small gold motifs.
As her garments were ornate, the Dear Comrade star kept her makeup simple - kohl-rimmed eyes, nude lips and a red bindi.
