Rising from intern to its India president, what would you change about your stint in BMW?

Philipp Von Sahr, President of BMW India, said:

"BMW was selling 3,50,000 cars back then, now it sells over 2 million cars. My first memory of the company is the lower pay (laughs). They asked me to take responsibility on the first day itself. I was a low-level manager, and the high-level manager always listened to me. My observation was that BMW has never gone the mass way. I learnt from there that going one's own way is the best."

"In the 90s, lot of manufacturers closed their plants in the US as the market was going down but BMW invested in a plant. Moreover, they started the SUV, which was a no-go at the time. It was a huge success. If I had to do over my BMW journey, not a lot would change."
