Tamil action thriller Blast enjoyed a successful run in theatres and is now gearing up for its next phase. Directed by debutant filmmaker Subhash K. Raj, the film stars Arjun Sarja, Abhirami, and Preity Mukhundhan in key roles. Since its release on May 28, the action-packed family drama has attracted audiences with its martial arts sequences, emotional core, and high-stakes confrontations. After completing nearly a month on the big screen, the makers have now unveiled the film's digital plans.

Streaming details of Tamil movie Blast

The makers have officially confirmed that Blast will begin streaming on Netflix from June 25. The announcement comes as the film continues to perform steadily at the box office.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the movie has earned an estimated India gross of Rs 58.67 crore in its first 25 days in theatres. With a few days still remaining before its digital debut, the film is expected to move closer to the Rs 60 crore milestone.

The OTT release will allow a wider audience to catch the action entertainer, especially those who missed it during its theatrical run.

What is Blast about?

Blast is a family that refuses to back down when faced with danger. Arjun Sarja plays Rajaram, a respected karate master who lives a quiet life with his wife Neelaveni and daughter Nila. While they appear to be an ordinary middle-class family, all three possess impressive martial arts skills.

Their peaceful world is disrupted when a powerful businessman named Varun Dhayalan launches a large mining project near a hillside village. As the project progresses, Dhayalan relies on his network of influential associates and a feared enforcer named Abraham to remove obstacles standing in his way.

Things take a dramatic turn when Rajaram's family crosses paths with the group. Instead of stepping aside, they choose to challenge the powerful forces threatening their community. What follows is a series of intense confrontations, action-heavy sequences, and suspenseful twists as the family battles a dangerous criminal network.

The film combines family emotions with large-scale action, making it more than just a conventional thriller. Much of the story revolves around how ordinary people use courage and determination to stand up against seemingly unbeatable opponents.

Apart from Arjun Sarja, Abhirami, and Preity Mukhundhan, the film features a strong supporting cast that includes Vivek Prasanna, John Kokken, Arjun Chidambaram, Pawan, and Dileepan.

One of the major highlights of the project is its music. Blast marks the Tamil debut of composer Ravi Basrur, who is widely known for creating the powerful soundtracks of the KGF films. His background score adds extra intensity to the movie's action scenes and emotional moments.
