The wait for Bigg Boss 20 is getting shorter, and the makers have now given fans a better idea of what to expect from the milestone season. Salman Khan is returning as the host, and the latest trailer has revealed a new twist called ‘Extra Jeevan Daan’, which could change the way contestants approach the game.

The new season of the popular reality show is scheduled to premiere on September 6, 2026. It will be available on JioHotstar and will also air on Colors TV.

The latest trailer starts with two warriors fighting before Salman Khan arrives and stops them. He then explains that the game this year will not be quite the same as before.


Salman says, “Bigg Boss mein har saal game badalta hai. Is baar sirf game nahi, khelne ka tareeka bhi badalne wala hai. ‘Jeevan Daan’ sunne mein jitna seedha lagta hai, utna hai nahi. Baaki, ghar ke andar pata chal hi jaayega.”

He later reveals the main twist by saying, “Bigg Boss mein milega, meri jaan… Extra jeevan daan,” before ending the promo with his familiar “Tathas-two” line.

Salman also shared the trailer on Instagram with the caption, “Two lives ka vardaan for all gharwale, meri jaan (sic).”

According to the trailer, contestants will have an additional lifeline in the game. However, the makers have not explained exactly how the extra life will work, when it can be used or whether it can directly save someone from elimination. That part is being kept for the show itself.

The twist is likely to become an important part of the strategy inside the house. Contestants may have to decide when to take a risk and when to depend on their extra chance.

When and where to watch Bigg Boss 20

Bigg Boss 20 will premiere on September 6, 2026. The Hindi edition will stream on JioHotstar and will also be telecast on Colors TV.

JioStar had earlier announced that six editions of Bigg Boss, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bangla, are being rolled out during the same period. The Hindi show will once again have Salman Khan as its host.

The official contestant list is still awaited, though several names have been linked to the season. Reports have mentioned Jannat Zubair, Mahhi Vij, Geeta Basra, Sunil Pal, Mr Faisu, Nia Sharma, Pearl V Puri, Arjun Bijlani and others.

Indian Express had earlier reported that Mahhi Vij, Geeta Basra, Jannat Zubair and Sunil Pal were among the names being considered, but none of these reports should be treated as a confirmed final lineup until the makers make an announcement.
