Qazi Touqeer is no stranger to captivating an audience. The singer, who has been gaining fans for his charisma and gift of the gab since his Fame Gurukul days, turned on his charm in Bigg Boss 20. In a clip that has gone viral, the singer is seen teaching Olympic boxer Mary Kom about modern dating trends such as situationship and "benching". Instead of explaining the actual meaning of the terms, the singer came up with extremely funny and innovative definitions of the words.

He came up with totally hilarious meanings. He told the athlete-politician that a situation occurs when people go on a ship and create a situation there. However, the ship stops in the middle of the ocean. “That’s a situationship,” he quipped.

He then came up with another outrageously funny definition of "benching". He said, "Benching is Ladka bench pe baithta hai aur ladki ko bench ke neeche letate hain. Ladki uska joota saaf karegi, yeh musibat discuss ho rahi hai.” (The boy will sit on a bench, and the girl will lie underneath the bench and clean his shoes).

After appearing in the 2005 show Gurukul, singer Qazi became well-known. Arijit Singh was another contestant on the show. However, Qazi went on to win the programme, while Arijit was ousted owing to a lack of votes.

Over the years, Arijit and Qazi have maintained their close friendship. On September 6, 16 competitors entered the Bigg Boss house, which was hosted by Salman Khan. Since its debut, the show has been the talk of the town. The contestants have been providing drama from the start, despite the fact that spectators were dissatisfied with this year's lineup. What Do The Terms Actually Mean?

According to the Very Well Mind, ‘benching’ is a Gen Z dating trend where you keep someone on the sidelines as a backup while pursuing other people. While creates a sort of 'guarantee' for the person doing the benching, it can make the individual being kept as a buffer feel undervalued. In sports, the practice of benching means keeping a player off the field or court as a back up option, if your first or second choice of player is unable to play. In an interview with Very Well Mind, Claudia de Llano, LMFT, a licensed marriage and family therapist explained: "Benching means keeping a backup player on the sidelines, not letting them participate in the live action of one’s life, but letting them think they are a part of it because they get a better seat than those in the bleachers." It is quite similar to stringing someone along with a vague promise of something exclusive in the future, but steering clear of any actual promises to keep the illusion of a future together.

According to Cleveland Clinic, a situationship is a relationship that is does's just lack exclusivity, but is also marked by absence of a clear label, boundary or committment. Many people who are not ready to be in a full-fledged committed relationship, yet do not want to miss out on romance, often opt for a situationship. "There are elements of friendship and romance, but they exist without defining the relationship. So, essentially, you have many of the benefits of a traditional relationship without having to make a commitment," explained Susan Albers, a psychologist to Cleveland Clinic.

While a situationship is better than a casual fling, as it involves some genuine feelings and a spark between the couple, the ambiguous nature of this bond can affect the mental health of people who crave more commitment or who have developed genuine feelings for the other individual.
