The first Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 19 has already sparked headlines, with host Salman Khan taking a stern stand against contestant and stand-up comedian Pranit More. A promo released ahead of the telecast shows the actor directly confronting More for resurfaced jokes he had made about him in past comedy shows.

Salman questioned the intent behind using his name for humour and asked the comedian to reflect on how he would react if their positions were reversed. He acknowledged that the jokes might have entertained audiences at the time but stressed that some remarks had crossed a personal line. According to the promo, Salman warned More not to go “beneath the belt” when targeting others for laughs.

Jokes That Sparked the Controversy

Clips of Pranit’s earlier comedy sets have been circulating online since he entered the reality show. In one performance titled Sigma Male, he referred to businessman Ashneer Grover’s stint on Bigg Boss and commented that Grover, who once alleged making a payment to Salman, appeared subdued in front of him. Pranit went further, suggesting that Salman was less interested in money and more in people’s careers, flashing images of actor Vivek Oberoi and singer Arijit Singh as punchlines.


Another of his routines involved Salman’s remark at a Filmfare press meet where the star had said his family used trophies as door stoppers. Pranit compared it to a cricketer criticising a tournament while playing in it. He also joked about Salman’s farmhouse and even linked the actor’s name while mocking a social worker’s NGO in another set.

Reactions Inside and Outside the House

The promo shows housemates visibly stunned as Salman addressed the matter, while Pranit appeared uncomfortable and struggled to respond. Social media, too, has been buzzing with reactions. Some viewers suggested that Salman had been waiting to address the issue, while others felt the production team had only recently informed him of the comedian’s past remarks.

During his entry on the premiere night, Pranit had already hinted at his cautious stance in front of Salman, saying that if he dared to joke about the superstar, he would be “finished.” Salman had laughed off the comment at the time, but the Weekend episode suggests the matter was far from closed.

With contestants including Abhishek Bajaj, Gaurav Khanna, Natalia Janoszek, Neelam Giri, Tanya Mittal, Zeishan Quadri, and others, the season has kicked off with a fair share of drama.
