Bigg Boss 13's Himanshi Khurana receives Rs 10 crore extortion threat after Ranveer Singh. Are both cases linked?

Punjabi actor and former Bigg Boss contestant Himanshi Khurana has reportedly received a ₹10 crore extortion threat. The complaint was filed with the Mohali police, and an FIR has now been registered. The development comes close on the heels of similar threats reported by actor Ranveer Singh and filmmaker Rohit Shetty.

According to PTI, Himanshi approached the police after receiving a threatening email on her personal ID. The email allegedly contained a voice note demanding ₹10 crore.

FIR Registered in Mohali

Police officials confirmed that an FIR was registered at Sohana police station under sections 308(4) related to extortion and 351(3) related to criminal intimidation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). As per PTI, Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Saurav Jindal said, “As per the complaint, the email contained a voice note allegedly sent by a foreign-based gangster demanding ₹10 crore as extortion money.”


Officials said the investigation has begun and technical teams are working to trace the origin of the email and the attached voice message. They added that further action will be taken according to law as the probe moves ahead. Security measures around the actor are also being reviewed as a precaution.

Link to Recent Threat Cases

Some reports have claimed that the threat is linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has been in the news for targeting film personalities. It is being reported that the alleged call may have been made by a gangster known as Harry Boxer, who is believed to be operating from abroad.

Recently, Ranveer Singh also received a threat message demanding money. In a voice note that surfaced, the sender introduced himself as being from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and directly addressed Ranveer and Rohit Shetty with threats. Earlier this month, shots were also fired at Rohit Shetty’s residence in Mumbai.

There have been other such incidents too. Punjabi singer Dilnoor had filed a complaint last month claiming he received a call threatening singer B Praak and demanding ₹10 crore.

Who is Himanshi Khurana?

Himanshi Khurana is a known face in Punjabi entertainment. She began her career after winning the Miss Ludhiana title and later appeared in several music videos. She gained attention with her role in the 2013 Punjabi film Sadda Haq.

However, she became a household name across India after participating in Bigg Boss 13. Her personal life and equations inside the house were widely discussed at the time, which added to her popularity.

Over the years, she has continued to work in Punjabi films and music projects and maintains a strong fan following on social media.
