Amitabh Bachchan busy with 'domestic Covid situations' after a staff member tests positive

One of megastar Amitabh Bachchan's 31 staff members tested positive for the coronavirus on Wednesday.

A Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official told PTI that a staff member in one of his bunglows - Pratiksha and Jalsa - contracted the infection during the routine Covid tests. The routine tests were conducted by Bachchan's team.

The positive staff member is asymptomatic. "He has been quarantined at CCC-2 (COVID Care Center-2) of the BMC," the BMC official said.


Another senior official told PTI that as per the guidelines they have followed COVID-19 protocol that includes contact tracing, testing and home quarantine of close contacts.

The Big B regularly updates his fans about his personal and professional life through his blog and social media platforms.

Taking to his official blog, the veteran actor also revealed on Tuesday that he will connect with his fans later as he is dealing with "some domestic COVID situations."

"Dealing with some domestic COVID situations... will connect later," he wrote.

Soon after his post, fans of the icon flooded the comments section of the blogpost with good wishes for the family. Some concerned fans also urged the actor to take care of himself during the fear of the third wave.

The 79-year-old actor was fully vaccinated in May 2021.

In 2020, the Bachchans had tested positive for coronavirus. While Big B, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan were diagnosed with the infection, Jaya Bachchan tested negative.

The third wave of coronavirus is looming over India, with Maharashtra recording the highest number of 18,466 cases.
