Bhooth Bangla OTT platform details out
As per information seen on the film’s official poster, Bhooth Bangla is expected to stream on Netflix after completing its theatrical run. However, the makers have not shared any official date or formal confirmation about when exactly the film will arrive online. That said, going by usual industry patterns, films generally land on streaming platforms roughly 45 to 60 days after their release in cinemas. So, if things follow the same pattern here, audiences may have to wait for some time after the theatrical window closes.
Theatrical release date pushed amid Dhurandhar 2 success
Originally, Bhooth Bangla was supposed to hit theatres on April 10. But the plan changed. The makers decided to delay the release by a week because of the strong box office run of Dhurandhar 2.In their official statement, the team explained the reason behind this move. They said, "By moving Bhooth Bangla ahead by a week, we are ensuring that both films get the theatrical space, marketing focus, and audience attention they truly deserve."
They also added that this decision was taken keeping the overall ecosystem in mind, including filmmakers, exhibitors and viewers. Another part of the statement mentioned, "We will always prioritise comfort of the theatre-going audience, and strive to entertain them in the best way possible with our films."
The film is now scheduled to release in cinemas on April 17, with paid previews planned a day earlier on April 16.
Cast, team and what to expect
Apart from Akshay Kumar, the film features a strong supporting cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, the late Asrani, Wamiqa Gabbi and Mithila Palkar. The mix of comedy actors and experienced performers is being seen as one of the film’s key strengths. The project is backed by Balaji Motion Pictures, led by Ektaa Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, along with Cape of Good Films. The screenplay has been written by Priyadarshan, Rohan Shankar and Abhilash Nair.
Writer Rohan Shankar, in a conversation with Zoom, shared that he got the opportunity to work on the film after the director appreciated his earlier work and writing style.
Horror comedies have worked well with audiences in recent years, and this film seems to be following that space. At the same time, the return of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan together brings back memories of their earlier collaborations, which had a strong comic tone.
