Finally, Team India Gets A Bowling Coach!
After much speculation and drama, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday ended the suspense. It announced Bharat Arun as the bowling coach for Team India. The 55-year-old Arun comes highly recommended by India coach Ravi Shastri.

Shastri and Arun are no strangers, having worked together earlier. In fact, their association dates back to the Sri Lanka tour in 1976. Arun was a part of the Indian Under-19 team under Shastri's captaincy.

Currently, Arun has been appointed on a two-year contract as the bowling coach. His new stint also means that he will have to quit as assistant coach from the Royal Challengers Bangalore Indian Premier League squad.

A burly right-arm medium-pace bowler and a hard hitting middle order batsman, he played a successful innings for Tamil Nadu. He was also a prominent member of the Ranji Trophy winning side in 1987-88.

The BCCI also kept Shastri's other wishes in mind. The apex cricket body gave a green signal to Sanjay Bangar (left) as the assistant coach and R Sridhar as the fielding coach till the 2019 ODI World Cup.
