Recently, however, a viral social media post left food enthusiasts amused and bewildered. A woman from Bengaluru shared her disappointment after ordering dahi puri online, only to receive a version that was far from the classic dish she expected. The order, which came packed in separate containers of plain dahi and puris, lacked the essential elements like chutneys, spices, boiled potatoes, and chickpeas. Feeling let down, she expressed her frustration on the platform X (formerly Twitter), lamenting how the order did not live up to her North Indian roots and love for authentic chaat. She wrote, “101 reasons to leave Bangalore” along with the photo.
The post, accompanied by an image of the underwhelming dahi puri, quickly went viral, amassing 4.6 lakh views. The stark contrast between the expected dish and what was delivered sparked a wave of reactions from social media users, many of whom shared their own thoughts on the matter.
Some users expressed their sympathy, describing the situation as disappointing and unacceptable, while others found humor in it, questioning why anyone would order chaat online in the first place. A few commented on the perils of food delivery and the challenges of replicating street food authenticity in a delivery format.
Previously, people wanted to leave Bengaluru city due to traffic and road congestions, water supply and water-logging issues.
