Bengaluru molestation: Kiran Mazumdar Shaw slams dress code for women

It was an incident that sent shockwaves through the country. While everyone has been outraged over the molestation incident in Bengaluru on New Year's Eve, Biocon's Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, who is India's only self-made woman billionaire, was also quick to weigh in on Twitter.

A proud resident of the Garden City, Shaw lambasted the lack of action on the part of the local police and addressed the burning issue of misogyny, safety and oppression of women.

“This is a blot on Bengaluru...Shameful to comment on women's dress code. Shameful to hear such comments from so called national leaders,“ she tweeted.



Then echoing what has been on almost everyone's mind, Shaw added, “Bengaluru never had such problems in the past. Women have always felt safe in crowds but this time we had intruders who were shameless...“ Well said .
