Prosenjit Chatterjee clarified that he doesn't hold any personal grudges, and had again ordered food through the food delivery app.
A day after his complaint to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee about food delivery app Swiggy went viral, Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee explained why he escalated the matter to the leaders.

In his clarification note on Twitter, the National Award-winning actor said that he raised his concerns as a "fellow citizen" and not a celebrity, so that no one else faces the same issue again.

The 59-year-old Bumba Da said that he wants the companies in the service industry like food aggregators and e-pharmacies to be more responsible.

"These days, we are all dependent on all kinds of apps and I, personally, use them and appreciate it. But people, who are serving food or medicines through apps, should be even more responsible," he added.

He also clarified that he doesn't hold any grudges and had again ordered food through the food delivery app.

"I know some people might laugh at this tweet but I just wanted to make people aware that people hailing from the service industry should be more responsible," he wrote.

The superstar, when contacted by PTI, said he that these aggregators should have some "accountability".

"I wrote to the PM and the CM as I believe such services should be handled responsibly. If the elderly or those ill have to keep waiting for food after ordering items online... if the food doesn't arrive, imagine their plight. Garments can be delivered late among other non-essentials, but the same does not apply for food," he told PTI.

"I think they (apps) have been of great help to people. But my tweet focuses on a pertinent issue," he added.
