Benedict Cumberbatch's security beefed up over female stalker

LONDON: Security at his house and the Barbican Theatre, where Benedict Cumberbatch is appearing as Hamlet, has also been beefed up over a female stalker.

The 39-year-old actor called in police and security experts, to increase protection at the home he shares with his wife Sophie and their son, after the woman began leaving red ribbons, reported Mirror.

Police has issued the woman with a Police Information Notice, which can be used as evidence in a future prosecution for harassment.

"Benedict wants to be safe rather than sorry. He's spoken to the police and now he's just making sure every precaution has been taken. He's also had a quiet word with the theater management,"a source said.
