Indians should get ready to master the lobster quadrille.

Be prepared to be kept guessing & taken for a spin on electoral dance floor
The lobster quadrille is a form of dance that all Indians should strive to master. Recorded by Lewis Carroll, in his 1865 novel, 'Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland', the dance essentially involves three requirements: one, you have to be at sea; two, you have to keep changing lobsters as your partners on the dance floor; and three, it involves the rhythm involved in keeping everyone guessing by saying, ‘Will you, won’t you, will you, won’t you, will you join the dance?’

As dance forms go, the lobster quadrille is not too popular — yet. But after the intense ‘Will they, won’t they, will they, won’t they?’ mechanics on display and machinations not on display, mastering the uncertain quantum steps will stand many a political-watcher, never mind innocent bystander (read: voter), in good stead.

But where on earth will one get lobsters to dance with — or, as may be the case, get lobsters not to dance with? One must understand — as Lewis Carroll himself did in faraway Victorian not-yet-terminus 19th-century Britain — that crustaceans have pincers, and lobsters have the crustiest pincers of them all. Thereby, pointing to the fact that your dancing partners need to acquaint you with being pinched and snapped at. Something that from now on, you should — nay, must — expect from politicians who take you for a spin on the Great Electoral Dance Floor.
