Barack Obama's Netflix favourites revealed; former president turned a 'Fleabag', 'The Irishman' fan

The former US president sort of got a cameo in the first episode of 'Fleabag'.

The list, which Barack Obama shared on Twitter, features 'American Factory', a film from his own production company, Higher Ground, that was recently shortlisted for an Oscar.
The former president of the United States spills the beans on his favourite movies of the year and the TV shows he loves that made an impression on him – and one he even features in (sort of!)

Barack Obama’s Netflix list is pretty chill. The former American president Barack Obama revealed what he’s been watching in 2019 and his annual list includes 21 titles, 18 of which are movies and 3 of which are TV shows.

The mention of his top TV show for 2019 is 'Fleabag', created and starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Social media was quick to point out however, that Obama even makes an appearance of sorts in the pilot of the show. And here’s where it gets interesting. In the first episode of the first season of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's show, the title character pleasuring herself while watching one of President Obama's speeches on her laptop. Obama has definitely watched it. Michelle too. And the internet goes wild!




Milder mentions
Some of the movies on Obama’s list include are Netflix Originals such as Martin Scorsese’s 'The Irishman', 'Adam Driver' and Scarlett Johansson’s 'Marriage Story', and true crime drama 'Unbelievable'.

Other titles that piqued his interest included 'Ford v Ferrari', 'Parasite', and 'Little Women', but he also included some under-appreciated films, like Aretha Franklin concert film 'Amazing Grace' and Senegalese romance 'Atlantics'.
